About ToolMitra
ToolMitra is a small, independent collection of free browser-based utilities with transparent methods. This page explains what is included, how it works, and where the limits are.

Why this site exists
Most “free online tool” sites make a simple task slower: cookie walls, account prompts, uploads you cannot verify, and five paragraphs of filler before the input field. ToolMitra takes the opposite approach. Open a tool, use it, leave. Most tools run entirely on your device, and the ones that need a server explain exactly why.
The second goal is usefulness beyond the click. Each tool page documents the method it uses, a worked example, its limitations and its privacy behaviour. If a number is an estimate, the page says so. If a feature does not exist yet, it is listed as planned rather than implied.
How the tools are built
- Next.js App Router with TypeScript, server components by default and client components only where interaction needs them.
- Image, text, JSON and QR tools run using browser APIs (Canvas, native JSON, Clipboard). No uploads, no temporary storage.
- Financial calculators share tested pure functions so the UI, the API and the tests all use the same maths.
- Astrology tools use the open-source astronomy-engine library for positions, with a documented Lahiri ayanamsa approximation.
Usage metrics without invented numbers
When a tool produces a result, the browser sends one small ping containing only the tool slug. We store a per-tool, per-day counter. There is no user identifier, no stored IP address, no file content and no personal profile. The homepage “trending” section sums the last seven days of those counters and only shows sections with real, positive data.
There are no fabricated testimonials on this site, no invented user counts and no unsupported trust badges. If you see a number, it came from the database.
