0 characters — aim for about 50–60.
Descriptions are a display suggestion, not a ranking factor you can control.

Your meta description appears here. Write a specific, useful summary of what the page offers.
Preview only. Google and other engines decide the final snippet, and may rewrite it.
- Add a title — it is the strongest on-page hint for search results.

Character counts are a writing guide. No tag length guarantees a ranking, a snippet, or how a social platform renders a link.
Fill in the title and description to generate production-ready head tags.

- Input
- Title: Web design for small businesses in Pune (58 characters)
- Output
- A title tag, description tag, canonical link, Open Graph tags and a Twitter card
Search engines may rewrite titles and descriptions. Length guidance improves the odds of clean display; it does not guarantee rankings.
Method
How it works
Each field becomes a standard tag: <title>, meta description, link rel=canonical, og:* property tags and twitter:card meta tags. Tags are only emitted when the corresponding field is filled in.
Character counters use simple length ranges: titles often display up to about 60 characters and descriptions around 155. Actual limits depend on the device and how much search engines choose to show.
Canonical URLs should be absolute and point to the preferred version of the page. Duplicating the same URL across canonicals, hreflang and sitemaps is the usual source of conflicting signals.
FAQ
Before you ask
Specific to meta tag generator, including limits and privacy.
Do these tags guarantee higher rankings?
No. Metadata can improve how a page appears and is understood, but rankings depend on content, usefulness, links and many other signals. No tag controls rankings.
What image size should I use for sharing?
A 1200 × 630 image is a widely supported ratio. Keep important text away from the edges and stay under roughly 5 MB.
Should every page have a canonical tag?
Most indexable pages benefit from one, especially when filters, tracking parameters or multiple paths serve the same content. Self-referencing canonicals are a safe default.
Why is my shared link showing the wrong preview?
Social platforms cache previews. Re-scrape the URL in the platform's sharing debugger after updating the tags, and confirm og:image is publicly reachable.
Privacy
