Image to 3D Model
Upload a clear photo of a single object and generate an approximate 3D mesh with TripoSR. Inspect it in the browser, download the textured GLB, and add it to the public community 3D library when you download.
Background removal and 3D reconstruction run on our worker, not in your browser. Source images are deleted after processing. Downloading a model adds it to the public community library under this name; you can turn sharing off afterwards. Unpublished models expire after 7 days.

05 stepsHow to use it
- 01Upload one PNG, JPEG or WebP photo of a single object with a simple background.
- 02Press Generate 3D model. The image is queued for a background-removal and TripoSR worker.
- 03Keep the tab open while the job progresses; the viewer appears when the mesh is ready.
- 04Rotate, zoom and reset the camera, then download the self-contained GLB file.
- 05Downloading also publishes the model to the community library; turn sharing off to remove it.
Example
What it looks like
- Input
- A 1800 x 1800 JPEG of a ceramic mug on a plain background
- Output
- An approximate textured GLB, an interactive viewer and a public community library entry
TripoSR reconstructs visible surfaces only. The back and underside are inferred and may not be accurate.
Method
How it works
Uploads are validated by file signature, stored outside the public web root and placed on a Redis-backed BullMQ queue. A separate worker keeps long GPU jobs away from the web process, so several uploads do not block page requests.
The worker calls TripoSR, an open-source feed-forward image-to-3D model. It removes the background, estimates a neural radiance field and extracts a mesh with marching cubes, then exports a self-contained GLB with a baked texture.
Every model gets an unguessable ID and an owner token stored only in your browser. Models stay private until you download one, which publishes it to the community library with the name you chose. Sharing can be switched off afterwards, and unpublished models expire automatically.
Results are approximate, not production CAD. Thin parts, transparent materials, multiple objects and reflective surfaces are especially difficult. Use the mesh as a starting point and retopologise it before manufacturing.
FAQ
Before you ask
Specific to image to 3d model, including limits and privacy.
Is my photo private?
The photo is uploaded to the generation worker, used to build the mesh and deleted after the job finishes. The generated model stays private until you download it; downloading adds it to the public community library. You can turn sharing off or delete it at any time from this page.
How long does generation take?
On a supported CUDA GPU TripoSR usually finishes in under a minute; CPU-only servers are much slower or unavailable. Queue position, image size and GPU memory affect the total time.
What files do I get?
You get a self-contained GLB with its texture embedded, ready for Blender, Unity, Unreal or any glTF viewer. When the engine also exports OBJ, MTL and PNG files, those are available as secondary downloads.
Do share links expire?
Unpublished models are retained for seven days and then deleted. Downloaded models stay in the community library until the owner turns sharing off or deletes them. The viewer shows an explicit message when a model is no longer available.
Can I use the model commercially?
TripoSR is released under the MIT license. Your source photo and the object it depicts may have their own rights, so make sure you have permission to use both before publishing or selling the result.
Privacy
Your source image is uploaded only to generate the model and is deleted once the worker finishes. Generated files are private until you download them. Downloading publishes the model and a small preview to the community library. The owner token stays in your browser and can turn sharing off or delete the model.
Read the privacy policy for data retention, analytics and contact details.
Limits
3D reconstruction is approximate. Do not rely on generated meshes for engineering, safety, medical or manufacturing decisions without verification by a qualified professional.
